Amazon CEO Questions On ₹2,000 cr Priyanka’s Flop Series

Andy Jassy, CEO of amazon, is raising concerns about the exorbitant production expenses of several television programmes, notably the badly rated Citadel starring priyanka Chopra. The production of the programme apparently cost amazon $250 million (Rs 2000 Crs), however it had little impact. Jassy has asked for a financial study for Amazon's failing shows as the business is ready to fire staff and reevaluate initiatives.

Other $100 million projects, like daisy Jones & the Six, The Power, Dead Ringers, and The Peripheral, all had trouble drawing viewers. Even the $400 million, highly anticipated Lord of the Rings film trilogy had trouble keeping viewers. Citadel got a significant creative makeover that cost an extra $80 million.

Amazon's investment plan, which included first-look agreements with top people, did not provide the intended outcomes. Concerns regarding huge spending in unsuccessful shows are the focus of Jassy's investigation. In addition to taking cost-cutting measures, the corporation aims to optimise content offerings and simplify operations.

Citadel, starring priyanka chopra and richard Madden, is at the top of the list of series for which amazon CEO Andy Jassy has asked explanations as to why they are priced as they are. The espionage series, whose production was famously challenging, made its premiere earlier this year to mixed reviews and a small audience. However, it is estimated that the production cost the corporation $250 million (more than Rs 2000 crore).
