Bollywood shifts focus from Tollywood to Kollywood

In the past, bollywood used tollywood as a source for remake content, adapting popular films with bollywood actors. salman Khan's role in the hindi version of mahesh babu and puri Jagannadh's "Pokiri" as "Wanted" marked the start of this trend. Salman's fame was revived by this action, making him a megastar.

Due to this popularity, bollywood blockbusters "Ready" and "Vikramarkudu," two additional telugu hits, were remade.

However, telugu films developed a foothold in the hindi market with the rise of the "Baahubali" series, leading to huge event films being released simultaneously in hindi and other regional languages.

The tamil film industry thus became a source of inspiration for Bollywood. There are currently several bollywood remakes of tamil films. Let's examine a few of them:

Remake of "Soorarai Pottru" Suriya and sudha Kongara's "Soorarai Pottru," which is based on the true account of Gopinath, the man who founded air Deccan, won National Awards and critical praise. The hindi version of the Suriya- and sudha Kongara-produced movie will star Akshay Kumar.

Remake of "Kaththi": akshay kumar is eager to remake Vijay and Murugadoss' "Kaththi." The remake rights now belong to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who will work with Akshay on this project.

"Anniyan" Remake: ranveer singh will play the lead role in director Shankar's hit "Anniyan," which originally starred Vikram. However, the original tamil producer of this production has brought legal objections against it.

"Vedhalam" Remake: john abraham will star in the bollywood remake of Ajith's popular mafia thriller with a sisterly theme, "Vedhalam," which was directed by Siva. Nikhil Advani is the director, while tamannaah and Sharvari play major parts.

Remake of "Comali": arjun kapoor will star in boney Kapoor's bollywood remake of jayam Ravi's "Comali," which was directed by Pradeep.

"Maanaadu" and "Theri" Remakes: The parts of Vijay in the police action drama "Theri" and simbu in the time-travel sci-fi movie "Maanaadu" are being assumed by varun Dhawan.

Remake of "Love Today": A remake of the popular movie, featuring Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of the late Sridevi, and Aamir Khan's son Zainaid Khan, is in the works.

How well these remakes do and if they can match the popularity of their original versions are still up in the air.
