This week, director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo, starring Vijay in "Thalapathy," is hoping to break box office records for the tamil film industry. Two days before its release, industry tracker Sacnilk revealed the movie's advance booking totals, indicating that a Rs 70 crore domestic premiere is anticipated. Leo has already brought in Rs 34 crore on its first day of sales, with tamil Nadu, Vijay's home state, naturally drawing the most interest. In contrast, Sacnilk had said that Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, had generated advance sales of about Rs 18 crore.
Leo has sold tickets for normal tamil screenings for about Rs 29 crore, while premium IMAX tamil shows have already brought in about Rs 7 crore. It's quite possible that these figures may rise with one day remaining before the release date. Sacnilk reports that the telugu version of the movie, which is competing against the regional releases tiger Nageswara Rao and Bhagavanth Kesari, has sold almost Rs 4 crore worth of tickets.
Now, it has been revealed that trisha has demanded a whopping salary of 5 Crores to act with Vijay in LEO. This salary is higher than many Tier-3 actors in tamil Cinema. Thanks to the success of ponniyin selvan franchise, Trisha's market is back at the pinnacle right now.
