Non-Theatrical Clash: Third Parties Under The Bus

G GOWTHAM
The non-theatrical rights crash is spreading tremors in the telugu Film Industry. Many films that are about to begin production are pausing to reassess their budgets and market values. Some films are reducing their budgets, while others are postponing production until the market recovers. This phase is expected to last at least six months, and it may last longer. Existing agreements are also a source of concern. If such agreements are signed by OTT platforms, they include conditions that allow them to depart or renegotiate. However, some films are acquired by third parties who then resell the rights.
They are attempting to renegotiate with the producers if there are favourable conditions in their agreements. They have no choice but to battle in the instance when big payments were paid for a few pictures. This is already happening for a mid-level hero's picture with an unsuccessful but competent director's film. They will have to put this initiative on hold until the market recovers. However, by the time it is corrected, these initiatives may have become stale and are unlikely to garner high prices.
The Third Parties do not have deep funds; if they do not survive this crisis, they will disappear. Despite the wording of the agreements, they expect the producers to assist. However, except for large manufacturers, it is not feasible for everyone. Remember that the producers are already dealing with their own issues. This accidental interruption is a significant chance for the sector to fix itself.
