Sriya reddy Salaar: prashant rewrote 'Salaar' for Shriya, an interesting story of return to the big screen after 15 years
Actress shriya reddy, who played the role of Radha Rama Ramanna, daughter of king Ramanna of Khansar in the film 'Salar Part One Cease Fire', is very happy these days. She is also very excited about her next film being made with Pawan Kalyan. But, very few people would know that Shriya's last film on the big screen was released in the year 2008. director prashant Neel had to make a lot of effort to prepare Shriya for his film 'Salaar'. He even took six months to rewrite the entire script of the film.
Shriya saran has been a very prestigious name in South indian cinema. Shriya remained away from the big screen since director Priyadarshan's film 'Kanchivaram' was released in 2008. prakash raj was the hero in this film. After 'Kanjeevaram', Shriya agreed to work on only two more stories. Out of these, he made one tamil film 'Sila Samayangalil' for director Priyadarshan on OTT for Netflix. Whereas, last year she also appeared in amazon Prime's web series 'Sudal', but shriya reddy did not say yes to any big-screen film. According to Shriya, she did not want to appear in the film like just a decorative doll on the big screen.
For the film 'Salar Part One The Siege Fire', when its writer and director prashant Neel was weaving a story like 'Game of Thrones' in the world of the imaginary kingdom Khansar, he was looking for an actress to play the daughter of the king of this kingdom. Who can make decisions firmly in the absence of the king? Prashanth Neel's search for this role stopped at Shriya Reddy. He searched for Shriya everywhere but could not find her. By then Shriya had also come to know that she was being searched for prashant Neel's next film being made after 'KGF'.
The first contact between the film's directors prashanth neel and shriya reddy for the role of Radha Rama was through a phone message. Those days, Shriya was traveling in switzerland and when prashant Neel's first message came on her mobile, she was in a chocolate factory. Shriya looked at Prashant's message for some time and then refused. But, even after the proposal was rejected, prashant did not give up and continued sending messages to Shriya. Finally, when Shriya said that if she would do a film, it would be one in which her character would be as powerful as the other male characters in the film, prashant smiled.
It is said that after hearing this from Shriya, prashant Neel asked for six months from her and geared up to rewrite the first part of the film 'Salaar'. prashant Neel now started re-developing this character of Radha Rama and kept giving information to Shriya at every stage. After six months, when he narrated the new draft of the film 'Salar Part One Cease Fire' to Shriya, then Shriya agreed to do this film. prashant Neel just said to Shriya at that time, 'Trust me, this is going to be something special.' And, Shriya agreed to his words. And moviegoers believe that this decision of Shriya was right.
