The sankranti season in tollywood has become a battleground for filmmakers, with stiff competition among multiple films eyeing theatrical releases. In the upcoming 2024 sankranti, a total of five films were initially in contention, but after discussions among producers, ravi Teja's 'Eagle' was excluded. This left 'Guntur Karam,' 'Hanuman,' 'Saindhav,' and 'Na Samiranga' to compete for the festive box office.

To add to the complexity, a tamil film has entered the fray, a common occurrence as tamil movies often have a substantial market in Telugu-speaking regions. Dhanush's 'Captain Miller' and Sivakarthikeyan's 'Ayalan' were initially planned for a telugu release during Sankranti. However, dhanush opted out due to the crowded release schedule. 'Ayalan,' on the other hand, is set to release in telugu on january 12.


The challenge lies in securing enough theaters for these films, with 'Guntur Karam' already occupying a significant number. Criticism has surdata-faced, especially on social media, directed at producer dil Raju. Allegations include unfair theater allocation, with dissatisfaction expressed over 'Hanuman' not receiving sufficient screens despite requests.


The situation has sparked debates about the equitable distribution of theaters during competitive release periods. Questions are being raised, particularly regarding dil Raju's decision to release the tamil film 'Ayalan' while allegedly not providing ample screens for the telugu film 'Hanuman.' The competitive dynamics of the industry often lead to such controversies, impacting the box office outcomes and audience reception of the films involved.
