As sankranti approaches, the telugu film industry is abuzz with the releases of movies featuring star heroes, setting the stage for a box office showdown. This longstanding tradition in telugu cinema has its roots in the era of iconic stars like ntr and ANR, with sankranti releases holding a special allure since the Kashna period. 

The trend persists in the current generation of heroes, with sankranti releases maintaining their significance. Despite the fierce competition, even emerging actors eagerly participate in the festivities, presenting their films to the audience. In a recent interview, nagarjuna reminisced about the sankranti atmosphere during his childhood. Until the age of 14, his family celebrated sankranti in Dendulur, near Elur.


 During those days, the cinema was an integral part of the festivities, and they would travel from Dendulur to Elur, bags tied to them, to watch sankranti releases featuring ntr and ANR. nagarjuna fondly recalled the joy of traveling with everyone to the cinema, a tradition that continued for a significant period. Over time, the means of transportation evolved, with fans gathering around tractors to reach the theatres. 


Today, the scenario has changed drastically, with spectators arriving in expensive two-wheelers and cars to enjoy the sankranti releases. nagarjuna himself is contributing to this year's festivities with his film "Na Samiranga," aiming to entertain the audience during the auspicious occasion.
