Ayalaan collects twice as much as Captain Miller
Hanuman, a superhero film that hit the screens on the occasion of pongal festival, is creating various records at the box office.
Dhanush's Captain Miller, Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan, Arun Vijay's Mission Chapter 1 and Vijay Sethupathi's Merry christmas were released in tamil for the pongal festival. Like pongal festival is celebrated in tamil Nadu, sankranti festival is celebrated in telugu states and thus new films are released there as well.
In this way, four films were released in telugu for sankranti this year: guntur Karam starring Mahesh Babu, Chaindav starring Venkatesh, arya starring Hanuman and Naa Sami Ranga starring Prashanth Varma. The telugu versions of Dhanush's Captain Miller and Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan were not released in order not to affect the collections of these films.
Both Ayalaan and Captain Miller are releasing in telugu on january 26. Mahesh Babu's guntur Karam in telugu was expected to rake in the box office as these two films were running the box office in tamil Nadu. But prashant Varma's Hanuman has emerged as a silent winner by storming all those films.
While films like Ayalaan and Captain Miller collected only Rs 50 crore in four days, Hanuman is threatening to become Baahubali at the box office by collecting more than Rs 100 crore. The superhero film has collected Rs 9.21 crores in india only yesterday. Hanuman has emerged as the real pongal winner by collecting more than Rs.110 crores worldwide in 5 days. The movie stars teja Sajja, amrita Iyer, varalakshmi sarathkumar and Vinay.
