In a recent conversation, he told a surprising incident during the shooting of Welcome. He revealed that he was not at all well when he was shooting for this film. According to the director, he was unwell at the time and had a nosebleed during the shooting of a scene and the doctor advised that he should be admitted.

Anees said, "I shot for that scene, but don't remember anything. Even when I was sitting on the edit table, I couldn't remember when I shot that scene." This was the particular scene where anil kapoor and nana patekar reach the hospital and learn that RDX's son Lucky has been shot. This scene was one of the funniest scenes of the film, but Anees does not remember this scene due to his ill health. He said, "I shot that scene with great difficulty. My nose was bleeding, but after its release, it became the best comedy scene of the film."


The filmmaker shared another interesting anecdote from Welcome and said that he showed the film to 200 people before its release and everyone's response was not good. Nobody laughed or thought it was a good movie.

Anees said that after this producer Firoz Nadiadwala became worried andhe called Anees the next day of the screening and said that no one laughed. Later we talked and then we went ahead without any changes and the film eventually became a hit and is still getting love even today.
