She made a special place in the hearts of people with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's hit web series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' in May 2024. Not only this, she also started a new phase of her life this year. After seven years of dating, Sonakshi married the love of her life Zaheer Iqbal in June 2024. In an interview with the News18 show, Sonakshi opened up about her special day for the first time and revealed that it was exactly what she and Zaheer had imagined. While promoting her latest ZEE5 horror-comedy film Kakuda, she said, "It was always our plan to have an intimate wedding. We both always wanted a wedding like this. Zaheer and I were very clear that our wedding should reflect the bond between us as human beings and our love for each other."
The wedding party, which took place on june 23, was attended by celebrities like salman khan, Kajol, Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth, Rekha, Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, Tabu, Sharmin Segal Mehta, Anil Kapoor, Richa Chadha and Raveena Tandon. In a video shared by Sonakshi and Zaheer from the day the marriage certificate was signed, Saqib, Aditi, Siddharth, and Huma were also seen along with Sinha and Ratansi. Happy to have her friends with her on her big day, Sonakshi said, "We wanted to make sure everyone there had a good time and that's exactly what happened."

A few days after the wedding party, Sushant Divgikar (who also attended the party) hinted on social media that several people had sneaked in. He wrote, "Recently I saw several people sneaking into a celebrity wedding and trying to break in. I can't believe people would get all dressed up, pretend likethey're invited, and then sneak in!! What's the fun? So you can go in and make some reels?" Sonakshi added a laughing data-face emoji in the comments section of the post.
Confirming the presence of partygoers, Sonakshi said, "Some people did break in but I was too busy having fun. I am glad they had fun too. Every wedding, be it big or small, has people breaking in. Some people come to eat food and I think it's okay, though I have never broken into a wedding."
