Karan Johar Falls at Shah Rukh Khan's Feet as He Receives Honor at IIFA 2024
Karan Johar was visibly taken aback when he received a prestigious award at the IIFA 2024, commemorating his 25 years in the indian film industry. This milestone was celebrated as he gifted fans with his latest film, rocky Aur rani Kii prem Kahaani. Actor vicky kaushal announced the honor, stating, “Today, IIFA honors karan johar for completing 25 years in the indian film industry and creating a legacy for the ages.”
Shah Rukh Khan presented the award, and karan appeared overwhelmed by the recognition. In a moment of deep respect and gratitude, he touched Shah Rukh's feet before accepting the award.
Karan Johar began his directorial career in 1998 with the iconic film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and rani Mukerji. The film won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and set the stage for Karan's future successes. He went on to direct numerous box office hits, including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), My Name Is Khan (2010), student of the year (2012), and Ae dil Hai Mushkil (2016). His most recent directorial effort, rocky Aur rani Kii prem Kahaani, was released in 2023.
While karan has been selective with his directorial projects, he continues to play a significant role in the industry as a producer and distributor. This year, he co-produced Kill, which gained popularity among cinephiles, and was involved with Bad Newz starring Vicky Kaushal. He also served as the hindi distributor for Devara, featuring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif ali Khan, and is a co-producer for alia Bhatt's upcoming film, Jigra.
