Jr ntr and Janhvi Kapoor's film Devara has made a remarkable impact at the box office, crossing the ₹100 crore mark within just two days of its release. In an effort to maximize its box office success, the makers have decided to extend the theatrical release of Devara: Part 1. While most films typically run for about 4-5 weeks, the team aims for a 50-day theatrical window, reminiscent of the successful kalki 2898 AD, which had a similar extended run. They plan to release the film on OTT platforms only after this period, allowing audiences ample time to enjoy the film in theaters.
As stated in an instagram post by Aakashavaani, “Makers of Devara are committed to a proper 50 days theatrical window. The film will not have a wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital release before then. So, make sure to watch it in theaters.”
Looking ahead, jr ntr will soon begin working on Devara Part 2, followed by YRF's war 2 alongside hrithik roshan and another untitled project with Prashanth Neel.
Director koratala siva explained the decision to split Devara into two parts, noting that what began as a single film expanded significantly during production. Initially a 4-hour story, it grew to 7 hours, prompting the team to opt for a two-installment format.
