Superstar Rajinikanth can soon be seen working in director Mani Ratnam's film. After 33 years, the actor-director pair can rock the screen. The last time both of them worked together in a film named 'Dalapati' wasin the year 1991. It has a cult status in the kollywood film industry. According to media reports, director Mani Ratnam is planning to contact Rajinikanth for his upcoming project. Mammootty was also in the lead role along with Rajinikanth in the film Dalapati.The story of the film was inspired by the friendship of Karna and Duryodhana of Mahabharata.
This film was very successful commercially and proved to be very important for the careers of both the stars in the tamil film industry. Talking about Mani Ratnam, he is working with kamal haasan in 'Thug Life' these days after 34 years.
The shooting of this film has been completedandit is likely to be released next year. The film stars actors like kamal haasan, Trisha, Simbu, Nasser, Abhiram, Joju George, gautam Karthik, aishwarya Lakshmi, Sanya Malhotra, ali Fazal, and pankaj tripathi in lead roles and its music has been given by AR Rahman.
Talking about the work front, Rajinikanth is ready for the release of his film 'Vettaiyan', which is going to hit the theaters on october 10. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film stars amitabh bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Fasil, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, abhiram and Rakshan in important roles along with Rajinikanth. The music of the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The superstar actor's 71st film 'Coolie' is also with lokesh Kanagaraj and its first schedule has been completed recently in Hyderabad. Apart from Rajinikanth, the cast of the film includes stars like shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, upendra Rao, Soubin Shahir, andSathyaraj.
