Emergency: Officer who delayed release of 'Emergency' gets sacked, after settlement in high court, preparations for release begin
Bharatiya Janata party was worried about the impact of the film 'Emergency' on the haryana assembly elections. The mumbai unit of the party also felt that Zee Entertainment's owner Subhash Chandra had backed it. The censor board got the job of properly 'scrutinizing' the film and its mumbai office's regional officer got it 'scrutinized' with full promptness. After voting in haryana, the exit poll results have come and here the news is that the new release date of the film 'Emergency' can be announced any day this week.
In almost all the exit polls of the haryana assembly elections, congress seems to be getting a majority. After this exit poll, a different atmosphere is visible in Zee Entertainment as well. Verbal indications of starting the countdown for the release of 'Emergency' have also been given in Zee's film production company Zee Studios since last evening. Some leaders of the ruling bjp in maharashtra and haryana had indicated to the top that if 'Emergency' is released before the elections, it may harm the party, but this harm seems to have happened even without the release of the film.
It is told in the mumbai office of the Censor Board that ever since Syed Rabihashmi was appointed to the post of RO i.e. Regional Officer, all those films have been specially targeted whose makers have been bjp leaders or close to bjp leaders. The matter of removing the word jai Shri ram from filmmaker KC Bokadia's film 'Teesri Begum' was very much discussed. The love of a Brahmin youth with a Dalit girl in the Bhojpuri film 'Jaya' raised the eyebrows of the Censor Board and then 'Emergency'. The director and lead actress of the film is kangana Ranaut, despite this, it is said that Syed Rabihashmi held the maximum number of meetings with the panel watching this film.
When this matter came out, Zee Entertainment approached the bombay High Court. There too, the censor board initially stuck to its stand. When Syed Rabihashmi did not listen to the new CEO of the censor board, Rajendra Singh, the matter started taking a serious turn. When the lawyers representing the censor board in the High Court started getting contradictory signals from both sides, the matter was brought to the notice of the higher authorities of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Last Friday, there was a decisive hearing in the high court regarding this matter, and just before that Syed Rabihashmi was removed. By removing him from the post, the censor board was successful in telling the high court that its dialogue with the producers of the film for its release is in the final stage, while Kangana Ranaut was also satisfied with the fact that the officer who troubled her the most in the censor board has left this department.
If sources of Zee Entertainment and Zee Studios are to be believed, the film 'Emergency' can now be released this month. On 11 October, two big Hindi films 'Jigra' and 'Vicky vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' are going to be released at the box office. After this, there is no big hindi film lined up for release on 18 and 25 October. If everything goes well, the film 'Emergency' can be released on any one of these two dates.
