The customs officer who caught the parcel searched Ajaz's mumbai office, as the address mentioned on the parcel by Sooraj was that of Ajaz's office. 100 grams of MDMA worth Rs 30 lakh has been recovered from the parcel. A case has been registered against Sooraj under the NDPS Act on tuesday, due to which he will be produced in court on Wednesday.
An official of the Special Intelligence and Investigation Branch said that they will investigate Ajaz's involvement in the case and will also investigate his phone records. When Ejaz's office was searched on tuesday, the bigg boss fame actor was not present in the office. Ejaz also did not come to the office on tuesday after getting information about the customs search operation.
Officers who conducted the search operation at Ejaz's Andheri office said that the parcel was booked by Suraj Gaur. An official said, 'Based on specific intelligence we detained a suspicious parcel which came through air courier, and on opening it we found that it was MDMA weighing around 100 grams, worth around Rs 30 lakh. Further investigation is underway.'
A customs official said that they have tried to reach Ejaz in connection with the case but his phone is switched off. The official said that they would soon summon him, record his statement, and also check his call detail record to know his connection with the drug delivery. Let us tell you that the actor was arrested in march 2021 with 31 tablets of Alprazolam weighing 4.5 grams. Due to this, the actor remained in jail for two years.
