Smita Patil Birthday Special

'There is no age to live, nor to die, life is just a name for shock', this line is not for anyone else but for the evergreen and very beautiful actress Smita Patil who said goodbye to the world at the age of just 31. This actress's birth anniversary is on 17 October.

The films of the actress with big eyes, radiant data-face, and amazing seriousness are still successful in captivating the audience. If her film is playing on the screen, the viewers just keep staring at every scene, every gesture. Smita Patil, who did wonders in the world of acting, was earlier a news anchor. The special thing is that her pictures that fell on the road were liked by the director of Doordarshan.

Versatile actress Smita Patil, born on 17 october 1955 in mumbai, studied in Marathi medium schools. After her studies, she started reading news in Marathi at mumbai Doordarshan. Maithili Rao has written Smita Patil's biography titled 'Smita Patil: A Brief Incandescence',in which she has narrated an interesting anecdote about Smita Patil's work at Doordarshan.

Maithili Rao had told in Smita's biography, "A friend of Smita, jyotsna Kirpekar, used to read the news at bombay Doordarshan and her husband's name was deepak Kirpekar, who was a photographer by profession and during his profession, he often used to take Smita's pictures."

The fallen picture changed the fate.

During this time, deepak once went to the Doordarshan Center with her pictures, where as soon as he entered, Smita's pictures fell and he started arranging the pictures on the ground. During this time, mumbai Doordarshan director PV Krishnamurthy, who was passing by, saw the pictures. Suddenly he asked, "Whose photographs are these?"

Then what? When deepak told him about Smita, he said that he wanted to meet her.

However, Smita was not ready for this work and after a lot of persuasion, she agreed to go to Doordarshan Center. The special thing is that when Smita was asked to sing something of her choice in the audition, she sang nothing but Bangladesh's national anthem "Amar Shonar Bangla". The director liked her voice so much that he immediately selected her for the news anchor. After this, Smita started reading news in Marathi in mumbai Doordarshan.

People liked her voice so much that even those who did not know Marathi would sit in front of the tv to listen to her voice. Smita's acting career also got a great opportunity from here.

Popular film director Shyam Benegal also saw Smita for the first time on TV and after seeing her, he decided to sign her in his film.
