zeenat aman and shashi kapoor were in lead roles in the film 'Satyam shivam Sundaram' released in 1978. The film was a blockbuster hit. This film was also in controversies. The film was directed by raj Kapoor. Now zeenat aman has shared this story on instagram about how she got this film. zeenat aman wrote in the caption - 'Raj Kapoor's 100th birth anniversary will be in December. Today I tell you how I was cast in the film Satyam shivam Sundaram. I am going to tell the story of my career.'

How did Zeenat get Satyam shivam Sundaram?

Zeenat further wrote - 'Around 1976 we were shooting for Vakil Babu. raj ji was playing an important role in the film. At the same time, his younger brother shashi kapoor and I were playing the lead roles in the film. In between takes, technicians would change sets, fix lights and we cast members would pass the time. Raj, on the other hand, had a revolutionary mindset about his art and was full of enthusiasm about a film he wanted to make.'

'For some time, he kept telling us a story idea about a man who falls in love with a woman's voice but cannot connect with her appearance. He spoke candidly and passionately, but never once gave a hint that I could be a part of the film. I was already a star. And I was having a problem with his lack of interest in casting me in the film. I knew that my modern image of miniskirts and boots was the reason for this. So I thought of convincing raj kapoor for this.'

Further she wrote- 'I knew that raj ji spent most of his free time on The Cottage set in the grounds of rk Studio. It was heard that he used to hold meetings here. He used to host small events. Often he used to hold meetings sitting on a clean mattress on the ground. So I took a step. One evening, after wrapping up the shoot early, I spent an extra 30 minutes in my dressing room and prepared myself like Roopa. I wore Ghaghra Choli, made a braid with Paranda and then tried to make a mark by sticking tissue paper on my data-face with glue. When I reached The Cottage, john (Raj ji's right hand man) greeted me at the door. He looked at me with surprise but agreed to my request- 'Tell Saheb ji that Roopa has come.' I will tell the rest of the story tomorrow...'
