Comedian Kunal Kamra is in the news due to his controversial joke. Recently, Mumbai's Habitat Club was vandalized, to which he gave his reaction. Kamra issued a statement on instagram condemning the incident and said that the entertainment venue is only a platform, which provides a place for all kinds of shows. He clarified that Habitat or any other venue is not responsible for his comedy nor does it have any control over his content.


In his post, Kamra gave a sarcastic example criticizing this method of protest. He said that attacking the venue out of anger over the words of a comedian is as ridiculous as overturning a truck carrying tomatoes because someone did not like the butter chicken served. He supported freedom of expression and said that it should not be used only to flatter the powerful and rich people.


Kamra raised questions on the role of the police, court, and administration

Kamra made it clear that he is ready to cooperate with the police and courts in any legal action. However, he raised the question of whether the law would apply equally to those who vandalized after being hurt by the joke. He also targeted BMC officials who reached the venue without any prior notice and caused damage with hammers.


Kamra refused to apologize

Kamra made it clear in his post that he would not apologize at any cost. He wrote that whatever he said was similar to the comment made by maharashtra Deputy cm Ajit Pawar on Eknath Shinde. He said that he is not afraid of this mob and will not hide till the incident calms down. He also quipped that those who are leaking his number and calling him will only get to hear an unpleasant song on their voicemail.
