He further added, "It never tried to dominate the narrative; the images were created within the realm of reality. So, we appreciated it."
Speaking about the award given to Sudipto Sen, Gowariker said, "This is a difficult subject and for expressing it with such clarity, we as a jury felt the need to recognise it."
Gowariker said there was "deliberation" among the jury about "The kerala Story," but the film was awarded unanimously.
This film had a net collection of 241.74 crores in India. At the same time, its worldwide earnings were 302 crores. This film can be seen on the OTT platform Zee5.
