Veere Di Wedding Hindi Movie Review, Rating
Veere Di Wedding is totally ruled by Kareena Kapoor as Kalindi who struggles between being an independent girl to getting embroiled in a grand ceremony, and branded Mrs. Malhotra, wearing attires she's totally alien to and getting caught between her desires and the real Kalindi she was and her fear of becoming someone else.
Sumeet Vyas as the boyish Rishab is full of Life, giving the necessary humor angle as well. Swara is impressive, next only to Kareena, and scores with her attitude. While Shikha Talsania is adequate, Sonam Kapoor makes presence felt in the casual one-night stand sequence. The rest of the cast isn't significant compared to the 4 leads.
The background score is impacting, while of the songs, Veere, Tarefan, is the pick of the lot. Cinematography by Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti is impressive making veere di wedding a colorful and visually rich experience.
Editing by Shwetha Venkat Mathew could have been taut. Shashanka Ghosh who has previously directed several duds is back with a stellar star cast in Veere Di Wedding. However, of the 4 hot and happening girls, he has made proper utilization of only Kareena Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar who excel and shoulder the whole movie with a wafer-thin plot.
Despite having a powerful team, Shashanka Ghosh presents the movie in a cliched manner styles on Hollywood ventures like sex and the city and many romantic comedies, and at the end, veere di wedding is all glitz and styles and no substance, with even the romantic track fading as the movie is rushed at the end. Except for music and Kareena, Veere Di Wedding fails to make a huge impression. All said, Veere Di Wedding is an average one time watch.
