Pragathi Guruprasad is a Tamil singer, brought up in Fremont, California. She gained huge attention after she participated as a contestant in the most popular television singing contest Airtel Super singer telecast in Star Vijay.
She was a participant of the third season of the super singer show in 2012, in its junior version, and was one of the finalists of the season. Though she could not be the title winner, and ended as the runner-up, winning second place overall just a few votes below the title winner, she won the hearts of many with her beautiful renditions of superhit numbers like Strawberry Penne, Rukmaniye, Mannavan Vandhanadi, Poi Solla koodathu, Chandralekha.etc, and also won the Best classical singer special award.
After her fame through the show, she debuted as a singer in films and has since then sung in the music of popular music directors GV Prakash, Anirudh, and Ghibran. Besides singing, her hot looks and her glamorous photo shoot with Chennai based model Pradaini Surva caught the attention of many, and she was also supposed to star as a heroine, making her debut in Tamil with a film directed by national award-winning maker Bala, but however the film didn't take off for unknown reasons.
