EXCLUSIVE: Detailed List of New Wages in Tollywood
It is known to our readers that Telugu film industry was paralyzed by the strike of Cine Workers in the month of October. It was then promised by the Chamber biggies to revise their existing pay scales and finally the new wages are decided and announced. It seems like most wages across the categories were increased from 25% to 45%.
This increase and wages will be applicable only for Big Budget films. Small Films can pitch in workers at mutually agreeable terms. Film Chamber will decide if a film is a small budget movie or Big Budget movie. These new wages have come in force from 21st October 2014 and will remain in force till 20th October 2017. This increase will come in as a huge burden for star films which are already becoming dangerous to high production costs.
Over 13000 employees of 24 Crafts in Telugu Film Industry are going to get benefited by this pay scale revision. They have earlier demanded 100% revision but now settled with the wages offered by the Chamber.
