A mere 702 votes elections and less than 396 polled votes elections garnered so much of media attention and stirred curiosity in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Adding spice to the entire issue, courts have intervened and put the results on hold for almost 20 days. Finally Rajendra Prasad had the final laugh despite Jayasudha have the support of major star families. Here is the reason for Jayasudha's failure:

  1. Jayasudha was mainly supported by the main star families except for Mega family in the industry. Dasari Narayana Rao, Krishna openly supported Jayasudha but majority of the stars did not turn up to the voting.
  2. Jayasudha has got the bad name as it is alleged that she did nothing for Secunderabad constitutency despite being the MLA. She carried this bad name to MAA elections as well.
  3. The last minute withdrawal of few candidates in Rajendra Prasad's panel has got him sympathy. Old and Junior artistes reportedly voted Rajendra Prasad out of this sympathy.
  4. Rajendra Prasad even contested in MAA elections last time against Murali Mohan and just lost it with 14 votes. The failure sympathy also worked out in Rajendra Prasad's favour.
  5. Many said that Kamma lobby was totally on Jayasudha's side as Nagababu supported Rajendra Prasad. But it is clear that Kamma votes did not go all the way to Jayasudha. It may be reminded that Rajendra Prasad is also a Kamma and managed to split the votes.
