Japan has become more flexible regarding the need of multi entry visas for short term stay for usual passport holders from February 2015, based on the agreement which was made at the Annual Summit Meeting which was held between the country’s PM Narendra Modi and Shinzo Abe.
The eligibility for Visa has been increased to include the public who has the travel records to Japan for short term visit to Japan and with proof as temporary visitor to other G7 countries. Presently as per the new rule which was passed, the visitor need not show the authorities all the travelling expenses when he or she stays in Japan.
Presently the duration of passport holders who come under short term multiple entry visas from India has been increased from 15 days to 30 days. The duration of visa has increased from 3 years to 5 years and the duration of visa has also considerably increased from 5 years to 10 years.
It is also anticipated that the relaxation time would support to further increase of exchanges between Japan and India. Mainly it is considered on the basis of number of Indian tourists to Japan and the step is made to gradually increase the convenience of Indian travelers.
