Johor Bahru - Johor chief minister Hasni Mohammed has announced that 1,440 people will cross the Johor-Singapore data-border in the first week of the implementation between malaysia and Singapore.

"I have good news to share. We are in constant touch with the respective authorities and the Central Government, and the State has confirmed that the land trip will take place on the 29th of this month (November)", the National news Agency of malaysia reported. Singapore's Commerce and industry minister Gan Kim Yong said that VTL could launch air VTL, scheduled to land between Changi airport and Kuala Lumpur international airport, on the same day 29.

The VTL scheme allows fully vaccinated travellers to singapore to enter the country without notice of isolation or stay at home, although they must take the Covit-19 test. The daily quota for the VTL project was reported to be 10,000 passengers.

However, when the Singapore-Johor data-border opens, Mr. Khan said the VTL cap will have a limited number of quotas, noting that families separated during epidemics will be given priority. Before the travel restrictions were imposed, about 300,000 Malaysians would cross the Causeway for daily work.

During a state assembly session on sunday (November 21), Mr. Hasni said, It was decided that only long-term pass holders working or working in singapore or Johor Bahru would be included in the ground journey between singapore and Johor Bahru. It is still being debated whether passengers will be allowed to travel only on public transport or use private vehicles when the data-border reopens.

This is a significant milestone in the cooperation between malaysia and singapore and will help revive the economy of both countries and the Johor economy.
