Indian Government plans to reach NRI's

Indian Government has decided to ask funds from NRI's for raising flagship schemes. Government has decided to raise funds for 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Clean Ganga' projects and they have targeted NRI's who are especially making a living in UK and Qatar. They will be reached by a Government supported trust.

India Development Foundation of Overseas Indians (IDF-OI) is the name of the trust and this will also focus on the contribution of all NRI's during the forthcoming Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Conference in 2016. Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Sushma Swaraj discussed with board of trustees regarding this.

The last meeting took place on May 23rd 2015. Now Government of India has sought their help once again to promote the flagship programmes Swachh Bharat Mission and National Mission for Clean Ganga.

Some good contributions from the NRI are expected. The Government clearly knew that if they can make some funds from NRI's it would be not a burden for them else the Government has to spend a fortune for these.
