Telangana - Ration Dealers Strike Called Off after Assurance from Govt
At a meeting with the leaders of the jac for Ration Dealers on monday at the State Secretariat, Civil Supplies minister Gangula kamalakar gave them the assurance that the State government was prepared to meet 20 of their 22 requests. He added the chief minister will be made aware of the final two demands, an honorarium, and a higher commission, and appropriate action would be taken.
The jac leaders demanded health cards for ration dealers and their families, the payment of dealers' commission arrears for a period of three months, an increase in the dealership renewal period from two to five years, or the elimination of the renewal system and the granting of permanent dealerships. Additionally, they looked into collective insurance and converted ration stores into mini-supermarkets that also sold other necessities.
