The president of the Telugu Desam Party and Andhra Pradesh Chief
Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly more or less decided to
field a fourth candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections which will be
held on June 11. This was being perceived as a crucial one by many.
Sources
say that the fourth candidate is not an official TDP nominee, but he
may be contesting as an independent. TDP would support the candidature
by pledging votes of remaining TDP MLAs, after votes to the official TDP
and BJP nominees.
Well, the independent
candidate needs to mobilise the support of other party MLAs to win this
fourth seat. Currently 17 YSR Congress party MLAs moved to the TDP and
two more MLAs are will join in couple of days even as the fourth
candidate requires support of another 15 MLAs.
Hence
it will be his responsibility to easily “buy” their votes. This hints
that whoever the capacity to spend more money they can take the fourth
seat. Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy from Nellore may stand in the fray! The
chosen one's name will be out soon.
