Karnataka Poll Results Counting was taken up this morning under tight security at 36 centres and the results are expected to be known by noon, sources in the Election Commission said. Elections were held to 223 segments on Sunday, after the one in Periyapatna in Mysore district was countermanded to May 28 following the death of BJP candidate. At 71.29 per cent, the voter turnout was the second highest in the state history, after 71.90 per cent in 1978.
This time exit polls and surveys are standing out to be true in the case of Kannada land. Congress is coming back strong and JDS also showing its muscle while BJP has gone with the wind strongly.

2:30 pm - Final results are out folks. Congress won 121 seats, BJP won 40 seats, JDS won 40 seats, KJP won 6 seats and Otheres won 16 seats.

1:00 pm - CM aspirant Siddaramaiah has taken a lead of over 20,000 votes over his nearest rival Ka Pu Siddalingaswamy of KJP at Varuna in Mysore. There are three more rounds of counting.

10:19 am - Pramod Madhwaraj won over BJP's B. Sudhakar Shetty.

10:15 am - One more win for congress , Pramod Madhwaraj has been declared elected fromUdupi assembly constituency.
