KK from TRS for 6th seat!
This is the first time TRS will contest in Rajya Sabha. Reportedly, TRS has planned to field its candidate for Rajya Sabha on February 07th. TRS has no strength to won 6th seat but political calculations before the general elections in Telangana helps to send its first candidate to Rajya Sabha. KCR all set to make arrangements to field KK as its nominee for elder’s house. Some prominent leaders from TRS have started delegations with other parties like CPI, BJP and MIM.
Former Rajya Sabha member and senior politician K. Kesava Rao will be its candidate for TRS. Currently, TRS has 17 members strength in the house including 4 rebels from other parties, TRS number goes to the extent of 21. Still party needs 20 other members to won 6th seat. KCR has concentrated on Rajya Sabha elections completely. KK had left the Congress for not renewal his RS membership again. KK did his level best to strengthen the Telangana moment at Delhi level. KCR wants to field KK from Zaheerabad MP Segment but KK demand for Medak or RS.
KCR believes that KK candidature will attract other Congress MLAs to vote for TRS. Congress has 50 MLAs in Telangana. In secret voting, Congress MLAs will vote their vote to KK. KCR also uses this as another opportunity to hit Congress severely. Last year, in MLC elections also TRS has won the seat unexpectedly. The question is how CPI and BJP will respond to KCR’s request.
