Liquor sales start again in TN after Supreme Court orders
According to sources madras high court has not permitted the opening of tamilnadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) liquor shops, despite the pressure from TN Government. But the TN government has appealed to supreme court and now they have permitted to reopen the sales.
The shops, which had been closed to contain the spread of coronavirus, will not be opened. A division Bench of Justices Vineet Kothari and Pushpa Sathyanarayana directed the state to sell only through online. But now as the supreme court has redirected the state to reopen the TASMAC shops, the sales will begin from today.
The government has decided to issue the liquor only per token and they have decided to issue only 500 tokens per shop. Every day the token color will be changed and the government has requested the drunkards to follow social distancing.
