Makkal Needhi Maiam party Head kamal haasan lost the elections at Coimbatore south Constituency by a narrow margin. The actor gave a tough fight until the last round and in the end, he lost by a very narrow margin. However, he pushed congress candidate Mayura Jayakumar to third place who secured second place in the 2016 elections. The tamil Nadu assembly elections took place on april 6, 2021, and the vote-counting event happened yesterday. Coimbatore south constituency grabbed all attention as kamal haasan stood as a candidate.
Similarly, BJP's Vanathi Srinivasan and Congress's Mayura Jayakumar also stood from their respective parties. Kamal chose coimbatore as it is the Manchester of south india and he openly wishes to oppose BJP. kamal haasan gave a tough competition and had a lead until the last few rounds. In the end, Vanathi Srinivasan won by a narrow margin of around a thousand votes.
Even though kamal haasan lost the elections, he has to be appreciated for his approach and boldness. However, the rest of the tamil Nadu couldn't bear the loss of kamal haasan and they started trending hashtag #முட்டாள்கோவையனுங்க (Mental coimbatore People) and they are scolding them for voting for bjp and making kamal haasan a loser. The hashtag has already reached National Trends.
