Modi opens a path for young aspiring writer with YUVA Scheme
Modi launched the yuva Scheme (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Author) scheme a mentoring programme for aspiring authors. The programme aims to teach 75 aspiring authors under the age of 30 who are eager to express themselves and promote India's culture and literature internationally. Under the mentorship initiative, each author would receive a combined stipend of Rs 50,000 per month for a period of six months.
The government hopes that by implementing this programme, reading and authoring would be recognised as a viable career option alongside other occupations. It is also predicted to provide a favourable psychological boost to today's youth in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic's influence on children's mental health.
