Rajya Sabha: Opposition MPs climb on the desks, threw files during the discussion on farmers' protest.

On Tuesday, the Opposition MPs climbed on the tables and threw files in the rajya sabha, when a conference on farmers' protest upon the new farm laws was inducted.

Shameful scenes were witnessed, on Tuesday, in rajya sabha, as opposition MPs climbed on the officials' table, hailed black cloth and tossed files when the house began a forum. Several MPs stood on the desk where the parliamentary team sits right below the chair, while others gathered around it shouting anti-government catchwords. A few members stooped on the tables for over one-and-half hours during which operations were adjourned many times.

No sooner during the discussion on the farmers' issues been requested, MPs belonging to opposition parties including the congress and the TMC trooped into the Well screaming slogans attempting withdrawal of the dubious farm reform legislations.

MULTIPLE ADJOURNMENTS, PANDEMONIUM IN HOUSE

As vice chairman Kalita called members to talk on the issue, sanjay singh of AAP escaladed on the table right underneath the presiding officer's chair and started chorusing slogans against the farm laws. This forced Kalita to momentarily suspend the proceedings. As the house marshals escorted Singh down from the desk, Congress' Pratap Singh Bajwa scaled up on the table, roared slogans and then threw a file at the Chair. Ripun Bora of the same party was seen standing at the table for some period. All this happened amid the adjournment period.

Sloganeering by the opponent and counter-sloganeering by bjp MPs remained inside the house following the short recess. While TMC and DMK members appeared wearing black shirts, kurtas and sarees, congress comrades were seen wearing black ribbon bands. An mp hailed a black cloth as pandemonium prevailed. While rajya sabha television stopped the scenes of ruckus, while the opposition MPs filmed the events and posted them on social media. As the ruckus sustained when the house met repeatedly, the proceedings were adjourned for the day.

Six MPs were suspended for the day, at the beginning of this month, for carrying notices into the Well. The other one was sent out for the whole session, for seizing papers from IT minister and mishandling them.
