After footage of her battling off an armed criminal quickly became popular, a local Subway employee in Illinois, US, reported she was reprimanded by her employer. On september 5, 2021, Araceli Sotelo, a Subway restaurant employee, foiled a burglary at the fast-food outlet where she worked, according to local news media.
When a criminal rammed into the store with a gun, Sotelo fought herself. Sotelo refused to give in while the intruder asked for money, instead engaging in a physical altercation with him. During the altercation, the mystery intruder dropped his gun, which Sotelo immediately recovered, according to Fox News. The burglar then attempted to reclaim his revolver while holding Sotelo's wallet in his other hand.
Sotelo claimed she did not post the footage online, but she chose to share a snippet with the description "A dude came into my job and tried to rob me." According to the study, the film has been viewed by over 8.2 million people. Despite the outpouring of support for her on the internet, she claims she was fired as a result of the incident.
