Former minister MR Vijayabaskar has been summoned by the Anti-Corruption Department and is requested for a personal appearance.

MR Vijayabaskar served as the AIADMK's Transport Minister. During his time as minister, there were concerns that he was raking in too much money from real estate. The Anti-Corruption police raided MR Vijayabaskar's premises on July 22 as a result of this.


The raid was conducted out on houses and businesses in Karur, including those owned by vijayalakshmi and her brother Sehgal, Vijayabaskar's home in raja Annamalai Puram, Chennai, and the homes and offices of Vijayabaskar's aides and allies. The police confiscated Rs. 25 lakh 56 thousand, which was not in the account, during the operation. police also conducted a series of investigations and seized property documents, investment paperwork, and money transfer documents.


He further stated that in the 2016 assembly elections, he owned assets of Rs 2.51 crore, which climbed to Rs 8.62 crore in the 2017 assembly elections. This information was discovered while scrutinising the budgets when he was the minister, according to the first information report.


The Anti-Corruption Department has asked MR Vijayabaskar to appear in person for questioning in connection with the asset accumulation. The summons was issued at the Anti-Corruption Department office in Alandur the next day, Sept. 30. His wife and brother have also been served with summonses.
