The flag hoisting for the Kulasekaranpattinam Mutharamman
temple Dussehra
festival, one of India's most unique festivities, began on the 6th. During the
festival days, the Goddess arose in many guises and came within to bless the worshippers every day at 8.30 p.m. Following the flag hoisting, devotees wearing bracelets donned various outfits and collected offerings for the Goddess from the streets. Thousands of
dasara groups performed and received tributes.
Due to the corona curfew, the
district administration and the
temple management have set numerous limits on the involvement of devotees and the
dasara group. As a result, devotees will not be allowed in full on the festival's 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, and 17th days for flag hoisting and procession, but will be allowed on other
festival days from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in compliance with the Corona Prevention Rules. It's also been mentioned. As a result, the area surrounding the
temple was entirely sealed off. Thermometers were used to test devotees before they were allowed into the sanctuary.
The main
event of the
festival, the Surasamaharam, takes place tomorrow (15th) night. The anointing will take place at 9.30 am. The goddess wakes up in a
lion vehicle in front of the
temple at 12 o'clock in the night and greets Mahisasura. The
event is usually held on the
beach in the presence of millions of devotees.
