Former AIADMK
minister KC Veeramani stated that the
party will always defend minorities. Wasim Akram (41), a member of the Humanitarian Democratic
party, comes from the
tirupati district's
jeeva Nagar, Newtown, Vaniyambadi. On the 10th of last month, he was heading
home with his kid after finishing his prayers at a
mosque near his
home when he was hacked to death by unknown attackers.
Waseem Akram, according to the police, had informed them about the sale of cannabis in Vaniyambadi. In addition, more than 18
people implicated in the
murder case have been apprehended and are being held in various facilities. In this context, the AIADMK leadership declared that the family of the killed Waseem Akram would receive financial support in the amount of Rs. 5 lakhs. Former
minister for Commercial Taxes and Securities KC Veeramani issued a check for Rs.500,000 as a result.
Later he said, "The AIADMK has provided financial aid to Waseem Akram's family on humanitarian grounds, regardless of political differences. This will be really beneficial to his family. This demonstrates that the AIADMK will always be supportive of minorities. It is widely assumed that those imprisoned in the Waseem Akram
murder case will face harsh punishment from the
tamil Nadu government. The
tamil Nadu
government should take steps to prevent such situations from occurring in the future."
