China and the united states have granted to increase climate cooperation over the next decade. The announcement came at the COP-27 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

The two countries, which emit the most carbon dioxide in the world, have pledged to work together this time.

They said both sides were firmly committed to working together to achieve the goal of limiting temperatures to 1.5 degrees Celsius set in the 2015 paris Agreement.

To achieve that goal, they called for continuing efforts to reduce the eye-catching gaps step by step. The announcement was welcomed by environmental activists and politicians.

The United Nations and the european union have called it a very urgent step. But Greenpeace says the two countries should have made more promises.

Meanwhile, scientists say that limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius will help mankind avoid the adverse effects of climate change.

This criterion has been fixed by comparing it with the pre-industrial temperature.

China's top climate negotiator, Xi Jinhua, told reporters that there are more agreements on climate change than there are differences between china and the United States.

US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi jinping are expected to possess a pragmatic meeting next week. These two countries are seen as global rivals in various fields.

China's top climate negotiator Xi Jinhua says the united states and china have held more than 30 virtual meetings.

But china earlier this week refused to sign an agreement to reduce emissions of harmful greenhouse gases.

About 100 more countries have signed the agreement. china has promised to create a "national plan" to control methane emissions instead.

Every step is important now and we have a long way to go.
