Launched by the National press Council of india in November. The 16th has been celebrated as National press Day since 1996. 


National press Day is celebrated to honor the work of the media and television, which play a key role in building democracy.

DMK leader MK Stalin: In an environment where democracy, equality, social justice, religious harmony, and the welfare of the poor middle class are being ridiculed by the authoritarian mind, journalists have a great responsibility to fight, argue, write and stand up for these. 


On National press Day I urge journalists to protect it so that it does not allow for any compromises.
