TN demands 2629 Crores as Flood Relief Funds from Amit Shah

TR Balu, a DMK mp, has asked for total relief of Rs 2,629 crore from home minister amit Shah. The northeast monsoon has wreaked havoc on Chennai's infrastructure, especially highways, as well as the surrounding regions, including Kanyakumari. The tamil Nadu chief minister visited the damaged districts and continued to inspect them in order to speed relief efforts and provide help to the afflicted people. 


Furthermore, the tamil Nadu cabinet proceeded straight to the flood-affected areas to survey the damage and issue a report. TR Balu met with home minister amit shah in delhi to discuss flood aid in tamil Nadu in this context. Agriculture has been disrupted in roughly 24 districts in tamil Nadu, according to DMK mp TR Balu, who spoke at a press conference. The rains have impacted some 50,000 hectares of crops. Horticultural crops were devastated on 526 hectares. The rains have wreaked havoc on 12 districts. The rains and floods have claimed the lives of 54 people so far. A total of 50,000 huts have been impacted. The rains have caused damage to 2,100 homes.


Today, home minister amit shah received the flood damage report given on behalf of the tamil Nadu government. We have urged amit shah to send Rs 2,079 crore in relief funds to flood-ravaged tamil Nadu. We have requested the immediate allocation of around 550 crore rupees for rain relief. The tamil Nadu government has demanded a flood relief budget of Rs. 2,629 crore.
