In tamil Nadu, the northeast monsoon has become more intense. Normal rainfall was observed in 37 districts and beyond, with the exception of madurai district. The water level in the 118-foot-high Manimuttaru Dam is 93.25 feet, the 119-foot-high Sathanur Dam is 99 feet, and the 60-foot-high Thirumurthy Dam is 54.77 feet. The Public Works Department is responsible for 14 thousand 138 irrigation lakes across tamil Nadu. Currently, 6,990 lakes have been filled. There are 3,218 lakes that are between 76 and 99 percent filled. The total water capacity of the six lakes that supply chennai with drinking water is 13.213 TMC. It has a water reserve of 10,086 TMC at the moment. This works out to 76.33 percent.
