Hijab Row: No religious garments in schools and colleges...

The karnataka High court has said that - in the educational institutions where there is a rule of uniform then it should be followed. The court has made it clear that where there is a rule of uniform in educational institutions, it should apply to students and this will not apply to teachers.

SS Naganand argued on behalf of the college for the hearing in the court on Wednesday. He said that there is a uniform for 18 years, no one has challenged it. In December, the entry of CFI takes place in this case and the atmosphere starts deteriorating. It is a student organization to say this but it is spoiling the atmosphere. A full bench of Chief Justice Ritu raj Awasthi, Justice J M Khaji, and Justice krishna M Dixit is hearing the petitions seeking permission to wear the hijab inside the classroom.

The karnataka High court, hearing the hijab case, on wednesday directed the state government to inform about the role of the Campus Front of india (CFI). It is noteworthy that on january 1, six girl students of a college in Udupi had attended a press conference organized by the CFI in the coastal town. It was organized against the refusal of the college administration to allow them to wear the hijab in the classes.

The senior advocate said that the organization was coordinating and organizing the demonstrations in the state. He said, “It is a voluntary organization, which is spreading itself and garnering support in favor of girl students (demanding to allow the wearing of hijab in classes). Another lawyer said that CFI is a fundamentalist organization, which is not recognized by the colleges.
