Blow to 'you' in Delhi; The merger of the three Municipal Corporations will take place
New Delhi: The Union government has decided to merge three municipal corporations in the national capital, a move that is seen as a major blow to the ruling AAP government. On Tuesday, the Modi cabinet approved the decision to merge three corporations in Delhi. Due to this change, there will be only one mayor in delhi instead of three. Apart from this, North, South, and east Municipal Corporations will be replaced by a single Municipal Corporation. After the merger of the three Municipal Corporations, the AAP government in delhi is expected to stay away from the existing Municipal Corporations. The central government may revoke the powers of Section 17 of the Municipal Corporation Act (DMC Act) from the government of Delhi.
Earlier, the Center had the power to take action under this section, but in october 2009, the Center had given the delhi government the power to take action under this section. Since then, the interference of the delhi government in the work of the Municipal Corporation has increased. bjp leaders urge Center.
According to sources, delhi Pradesh bjp leaders have requested the Center to completely free the Municipal Corporation from the delhi government. However, they have demanded that all the three corporations should be managed or merged into three corporations to form a corporation. This is because the delhi government has been given the power to take action under certain sections of the DMC Act.

You have been manipulated by the government The bjp leaders are of the view that the work related to the above clauses is pending with the delhi government, thus affecting the functioning of the Municipal Corporation. Therefore, the bjp leaders have demanded the central government to take complete control of the municipal corporation as in the past.
The proposal was sent to the Center by the sheila dikshit government.
The sheila dikshit government in delhi had in 2009 sent a proposal to the Center to retain 23 sections of the DMC Act from the Union home Ministry, but the Center had given it 17 sections. He was given only the power of clauses and 12 clauses in it were given to him in full, while he was given the power to recommend to the central government under five clauses.
