In the wake of his arrest for the murder of his former driver, Andhra Pradesh's ruling ysr congress party (YSRCP) removed Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Anantha uday bhaskar from the party on Wednesday. The MLC has been suspended on the orders of chief minister and party President Y.S. jagan Mohan Reddy, according to a statement from the party office. The suspension occurred two days after Anantha Babu, as the MLC is known, was apprehended by police. He was brought before a magistrate in kakinada the same day, who sentenced him to 14 days in judicial custody.
In his statement to police, the politician claimed responsibility for the murder of driver Subrahmanyam. During an argument, he shoved the dead, causing him to fall and die on the night of May 19. The MLC further instructed cops to inflict injuries on Subrahmanyam's body in order to make it appear as if he died in a car accident. The driver's family, on the other hand, refused to believe him and filed a police report. According to the MLC's statement to the police, Subrahmanyam was inebriated when he was arrested for failing to give up unhealthy habits.
Subrahmanyam was assaulted by the MLC who had taken him near the former's house for continuing his bad behaviours. The driver became enraged and interrogated him. The MLC grabbed the driver's neck and pushed him, enraged at the driver's inquiry. Subrahmanyam was knocked out and suffered a concussion. When the driver attempted to retaliate, the MLC shoved him again, resulting in a serious head injury. The MLC informed authorities that he offered Subrahmanyam water, but that after a few minutes, he became unconscious. The legislator then considered portraying the incident as a traffic collision. He drove the body to a dumping yard, where he used sticks to inflict injuries on the body.
