In such a situation, now we should not be forced to go on the way of Periyar.

We request the central government to give us the right to self-government. He further said that even though now the DMK has backed out from the demand for a separate state, now we are demanding autonomy of the state and are not doing it in any pride.’

His statement is now being criticized all around. bjp leader Shahzad Poonawalla has condemned him by tweeting. He wrote in the tweet that DMK is adopting a separatist stand. Opposing any party or the central government is acceptable, but you have started denying the very idea of 'One India', he said.

It is noteworthy that cm MK stalin was also present in this program, but he did not react to this statement of A Raja. Earlier he directed the elected representatives of local bodies to follow the principles of law, fairness, and justice and serve the people.

"I warn those who violate it will be punished. Legal action will be taken," he said. stalin said many of his close friends were telling him that he had become "too much" democratic. "If indiscipline and irregularities go to their heads, I will become a dictator and take action," he said.
