Tripura Election: Over 81 per cent turnout...
The tribal-dominated state of Tripura was once considered a bastion of Left parties. It was also necessary to believe this. After the formation of the government in the state for the first time in the year 1963 till 2018, in a journey of 55 years, the Marxist Communist party (CPI-M) ruled here for about 35 years. In this too, from april 10, 1993, to march 8, 2018, the CPI-M ruled it for 25 consecutive years at will, in a way making it the biggest red flag bastion after West Bengal. But in the year 2018, the situation changed as soon as the BJP's saffron flag was hoisted here for the first time.
Now on Thursday, voting has been held in the state once again to elect the government, in which a record 86.10 per cent voter turnout has been recorded. After this, the question has arisen whether the bjp has been successful in playing its magic in these assembly elections or whether this record voting has happened to remove it from the seat of power.
In the record turnout, has the public again kept faith in the saffron flag or has the BJP's magic lost its sheen?
