ATA Condemns Gun Violence

The American telugu Association, or ATA, firmly denounces the terrible act of gun violence that claimed 8 innocent lives at a mall in Allen, texas on Saturday, May 6, 2023. It is extremely regrettable that gun violence frequently results in the deaths of innocent people. It is a terrible reality that gun violence is causing harm to innocent individuals across the nation, regardless of community, race, or ethnicity.

One of the victims of this latest tragedy was aishwarya Thatikonda, 27, from Hyderabad, India, where the majority of our members are from. Both a sizable telugu community and members of the indian diaspora reside in the dallas metropolitan area. ATA sends its sincere condolences to all of the victims of this senseless violence as well as to their families. We extend our prayers to the victims' families, friends, and all those who were impacted by this horrific act. ATA supports the families and is there for them at this trying time.

ATA is there to support the neighbourhood and will collaborate with other groups that share its values to aid the victims. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families of the victims who passed away and were hurt. We gratefully acknowledge the rapid response of the police and emergency personnel and sincerely implore lawmakers to halt this senseless act of violence and enact the necessary reforms to stop tragedies like this from happening so frequently in our nation.
