Gramme Panchayats would receive Rs. 1,190 crore from the state government. Following a directive from the chief minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, officials released the monies to the panchayats to speed up various projects in the villages. So, on Tuesday, a meeting was conducted here between the ministers of finance, T Harish Rao, and of panchayat raj and rural development, E Dayakar Rao.
The Ministers talked about giving various panchayats a total of Rs. 1,190 crore to use for a variety of projects. They also gave instructions to the officials to start the process as soon as possible for releasing the monies. Members of the Sarpanch Association met with the minister for panchayat raj and Rural Development and expressed their appreciation for the Chief Minister's choice to distribute the monies to Gramme Panchayats.
The Ministers stated that the State administration gave rural development high priority and that funding were being distributed on a regular basis to make sure that all development projects were completed on time. On Monday, the minister addressed the crowd after giving the National Deendayal Upadhya panchayat Satat Vikas Pushkar awards to Grama Panchayats in Sangareddy. He said that Sarpanches could easily finish the projects because the panchayat would be in charge of handling the payment of monies. Up until this point, they had to write a cheque to the Treasury to obtain the money.
