Telangana turmoil - BJP likely to replace Bandi Sanjay
In March, Sanjay reached the end of his three-year term as State President. The leadership decided to extend his term till the following year so that he could lead the party in the next assembly elections.
However, following the disaster in Karnataka, the bjp leadership seems to have made the decision to avoid taking chances and is, as a result, considering the recommendations of its top leaders in telangana and making modifications as necessary. With only a few months until the State assembly elections, the party is working to find solutions to all the problems since it cannot afford to go to the polls with a divided house and win, according to a senior party leader.
He remarked, "The high command's immediate task is to keep its flock together in the State." Even though Eatala Rajender, a huzurabad MLA who has been vociferous in his criticism of Sanjay ever since he joined the party, is seen to be the front-runner for the top position, party insiders claim the leadership would like for him to lead the campaign committee instead so he can build the party from the ground up.
According to rumours, the leadership is more willing to give the reins to DK Aruna, the party's national vice president. party sources claim that after conducting surveys of leaders and cadres across all districts, the bjp telangana in-charges decided to name Aruna the party's leader. Eatala Rajender, who has been camped out in the national capital for the past two days, has apparently been apprised of the party high command's decision and has reportedly consented to it. According to insiders, the party would likely identify the new party chairman in a few days after summoning key leaders of the State unit to delhi to advise them of the decision to replace Sanjay.
